Brendan Smith is the Special Teams Coordinator and Linebackers Coach at Bentley University (NCAA Division II), where he directs all aspects of the punt, punt return, kickoff, and kickoff return units. Under his leadership, Bentley finished first in the NE10 Conference in punt return and second in kickoff and kickoff return.

Smith is a former two-time captain and All-Big Ten safety at Northwestern University, where he transitioned from quarterback to defensive back, giving him a unique perspective on offensive structure, coverage recognition, and situational football.

He previously served as Defensive Coordinator at Viewpoint School (CA), implementing a collegiate-style coverage system while overseeing staff coordination, player development, and program culture. Smith also brings head coaching experience from lacrosse, where he managed budgets, staff hiring, scheduling, recruiting, and fundraising operations.

Smith began his collegiate coaching career at Oklahoma State University as a Defensive Quality Control assistant, assisting with opponent breakdowns, and passing game analysis.
