PRESENTATION OF THE ASSOCIATION
Le Flash de La Courneuve is a sports association founded in February 1984, dedicated to the amateur practice of American Football, Flag soccer, Cheerleading and e-sport, in both leisure and competition, in a spirit of recreation, multiculturalism and citizenship.
At June 30, the club had 1287 members, both male and female, divided into 10 sections ranging from the Elite Seniors, who compete in the French 1st division championship and European competitions, to the Benjamins section, which offers a fun way to discover our different disciplines.
Our association is recognized throughout France for its sporting achievements, making it the most successful club in France, and for its ability to train players and coaches of international calibre. But beyond the simple framework of American Football, individual development within a dynamic team is also a constant concern, which is why Flash is also a place for training, informal or professional mutual aid and exchanges.
Our educational activities outside the sports arena, our know-how and dynamism in event organization and the diversity of our initiatives are sure to raise our profile with a diverse public and contribute greatly to our recognition.
Since its creation, Le Flash has always focused its development on popular sports open to as many people as possible. Through the daily efforts of its members, the club has demonstrated its determination to provide all its members, whatever their level, with supervised, safe and progressive sporting sessions and conditions, while continuing to defend the values of solidarity in effort and sharing in the learning of knowledge.
Aware that we operate in a difficult socio-economic environment, and that we have an important social role to play in it, the management team has, beyond the purely sporting aspect, been working from the outset with the youth sections, as well as with schoolchildren, youth clubs, educational establishments and prisons, on the societal aspect of our structure and related actions.
The short-, medium- and long-term initiatives we have undertaken are designed to strengthen our commitment to the community, while ensuring the long-term viability of our effective sports activities and high-quality training, which will serve as a model, encourage new generations and guarantee our development and success.
To carry out all our missions, we have created two distinct entities within our association, the Ecole Citoyenne de Football Américain (ECFA) in 2014 and the Académie Citoyenne du Flash (ACF) in 2022.
- The ECFA is open to all Flash members who wish to develop their sporting and educational skills, while respecting the values of citizenship.
One of the main objectives of the ECFA is to facilitate the dual sporting and social pathways of high school pupils, students and young workers. In this respect, our school works directly with our newly-created Citizen Academy (ACF).
On a daily basis, the ECFA guides students towards sporting excellence under the direction of Mr. Paul Durand (D.E. and top-level athlete) and Guillaume Buquet (D.U. Physical preparation).
The School's sporting objective is to enable athletes to develop both physically and technically, and to enhance their knowledge of soccer through classroom sessions.
- Building on the success of our ECFA, which focuses on sporting excellence, in 2022 our association opened the Flash Citizen Academy (ACF), which has a clear focus on community life, citizenship education and relationships with others.
Our association's vocation is not only to develop our members as athletes, but also as citizens.
The Academy was created to meet the vital needs of local teenagers, whose dissatisfaction can lead to negative or even aggressive behavior. By providing them with social support, encouragement and special attention, we can restore their self-confidence and encourage them to open up to others in a caring way. This is the primary aim of ACF.
Most of the ACF's activities will be shared with other associations in the area, be they sports, cultural, leisure, social or educational. It's important to build bridges between the different structures.
But it's also important to be able to recreate an intergenerational link, and to foster dialogue and cooperation between audiences who no longer speak to each other. Or to create actions that enable people who don't know each other to move forward together.
In this respect, our academy members have at least one civic action per month. These actions are multi-faceted and cover a number of different areas.
These civic actions are linked under the sign of benevolence, and will consist of food donation distribution days, as well as sporting activities such as sports for the disabled with our Institut Médico Educatif de Seine Saint Denis, sports evenings in hospitals for sick children, and intergenerational activities with our new Cheer Zen discipline.
Sport must be a driving force behind access for all. The academy wants to reinforce tolerance and inclusivity by setting up sports activities designed to enable LGBT people to practice sport in a caring environment, without homophobic remarks or discrimination, whatever their sexual orientation, gender or physical condition.
As a first step towards guaranteeing access to culture, sports and leisure for all, the ACF is offering free guided tours of the Louvre for our members and their families, based on a theme decided in advance at the academy. In the medium term, the aim is to offer a monthly cultural outing in our region (theater, museum, opera, etc.), as well as visits to local artists' studios, with a view to participating in an artistic project over the course of the year.
But that's not all, as our academy will also be providing awareness-raising days on subjects that appear taboo to many, but which are essential to the proper development of life together. As part of this "training" role, the ACF will initially provide all its supervisory staff (employees, coaches, referees, etc.) with awareness-raising days on the prevention of radicalization in the associative environment, sexual violence and drug use. The aim is to guarantee a safe, calm and friendly environment when a member joins us. These awareness-raising days will then be rolled out to all our members and their families, as well as to our private and public partners.
To build these various projects within our Académie Citoyenne, we will be relying on our existing partners and seeking out new ones.
We can already count on associations such as Etincelle d'Espoir pour Soan, Kinouproteg, Unis Vers, FACE, Premiers de Cordée, AVVEJ, various IMEs in Seine Saint Denis, the Ligue Ile de France de Football Américain, as well as the new theater in Montreuil, the urban lutherie 9. 3 urban lutherie, the Maison des Jonglages de La Courneuve, the Opéra de bouche à oreille, conductor Sylvain Cartigny, director Frédéric Nauczyciel and Carmelo Agnelo, artists such as Rachid Khimoune, Esprit Noir and Emmanuelle Berne...
In order to write this future together, we would like to thank the support of the department, which has enabled us to set up this academy through the recruitment of a social development officer.
