Bryson Sumlin is an educator, life coach, athletic coach, and behavior intervention specialist with nearly two decades of experience supporting student growth in both academics and athletics. He currently serves as a Behavior Intervention Specialist with the Bakersfield City School District, where he works closely with administrators, teachers, students, and families to address behavior challenges, reduce suspensions and truancy, and support at-risk students through targeted, school-based interventions.

In addition to his work in education, Bryson has served as a Varsity Football Coach at Bakersfield Christian High School since 2016, overseeing the Running Backs and Special Teams. Under his leadership, the program has achieved and sustained success, including 9 league championships, 3 valley titles, and state championship appearances, highlighted by a 2019 State Championship. He is committed to developing student-athletes who demonstrate integrity, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic responsibility both on and off the field.

Bryson also brings extensive classroom experience, having taught Math, Physical Education, and English Language Arts within the Bakersfield City School District. His instructional approach emphasizes relationship-building, data-driven instruction, collaboration within professional learning communities, and closing instructional gaps through small-group support and targeted interventions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from California State University, Fresno.

Beyond the classroom and athletic field, Bryson is a self-employed personal trainer who has worked with youth, adults, and professional athletes since 2007. He designs individualized fitness programs, leads camps and small-group training sessions, and emphasizes the connection between physical fitness, discipline, and personal growth.

A former (walk-on) collegiate football player earning a scholarship at Fresno State University and a professional running back with the San Diego Chargers, Bryson brings a unique blend of athletic experience, leadership, and mentorship to his work. He remains deeply involved in the community as a youth leader at Family Fellowship Church and a long-time coach for youth football and basketball. His passion lies in empowering young people to reach their full potential through structure, accountability, and positive relationships.
